Well, Chinese are sure famous for that and built their national success on this strategy. However, I would put in doubt their capability of replicating something overly complicated. They could've ordered those machines themselves and reverese-engineered the entire thing long time ago, and ruin the business for Taiwan and EU by cutting the price and offering insane level of supply

ASML is strong example of your logic. It is complicated machines. Very very complicated. And it takes forewer to reverse-engineer them. But in most cases, china successfully replicated almost everything. Also chinese people getting education in best USA universities and returning back to china, building first quantumn-engagement communication satellite in world, suber big radiotelescopes, aviation. Also, chinese-taiwan fabrics got documentation on every iphone/laptop/CPU they made. This is a lot of information for chinese reverse-engineers.
